Ahn, A Shattered World
Archipelago of Bones
Floating in the center of Ezak, the Archipelago is widely known for only a few things. First, its name comes from the carcass and skeletal remains that choke the beaches on the two main islands. For reasons that remain unknown, hundreds of aquatic animals will purposefully beach themselves on the sands every year and quietly decompose. Second, the bones and the meat that hasn’t rotted is scavenged by the inhabitants and used in carvings and rituals. Nothing beached is ever eaten, it is considered back luck to do so. Third, many of these items are traded with pirates and smugglers to be sold in the markets of Ithir. Commonly supplies or slaves are the preferred currency when dealing with the Bone Dwellers as they are known. Aside from these strangenesses, the islands are nothing extraordinary. Many have tried to establish ports and small fishing villages along the coastline, but eventually the populations dwindle and towns remain abandoned or wash away into the sea. Only the native villages in the center of the island remain.
